Jubilee Reunion Smoke Concert
Balmain Rowing club is in the 50th year of its existence, and will mark the occasion by holding a jubilee reunion smoke concert at the club-house, White Horse Point, next Saturday night. The committee is anxious that all prominent members of the club since it foundation should be present

Balmain Alderman R Thornton, an ex-member of the Balmain Rowing Club, presided a the reunion smoke concert, held at the clubhouse on Saturday last to celebrate the golden jubilee of the club. A large number of past and present members during it’s 50 years of existence was present, and assembled at the old clubhouse with many acquaintances renewed. The guest were welcomed by Mr J B Sharp president, and the toast of "The Day We Celebrate” was proposed by Alderman Thornton. Mr William Beach, ex-world’s champion sculler, a life honorary member of the club, supported the toast, also did S J Porter, J Booth, R R Ferrier, Duncan Smith, A Bogle, and many old members. Mr H G Alderson (chairman of New South Wales Rowing Association) proposed the toast to the Balmain Rowing Club, which was supported by Mr W Brown, an ex-captain of the Brisbane Rowing Club, and the town clerk A Sommerville.
